Literal:
Here are my logs for service learning.
Year 2010
Year 2011
Contact: My Father, Raymond can be called to confirm my hours because he volunteered with me if the adoption office is to busy to answer.
Interpretive:
What I gained most from my service learning was how to interact with other dogs who were not my own as well as how to care for them and handle them. I learned that is is not easy taking care of dogs there are so many things you need to consider such as laundry, walking, cleaning food bowls, and basic interaction. I also think I gained better communication skills with people because every time I went to the shelter I would have to deal with the public.
Applied:
Service Learning helped me answer my essential question by showing me first hand how to care for other dogs. As well as be able to see other dogs who were not my own, and see their behavior and social status.
An example is that when I was walking through the shelter you can tell which dog is dominant over the other. Service Learning also helped me see how to care for a dog medically because I would constantly see the vets take care of them.
